Hidden Gems of the Holiday Season

Leavitt Institute Building, 11 Matthews Way, Turner, ME

Music for Mavis presents T-Acadie in “Hidden Gems of the Holidays”, a concert of lesser-known songs and tunes of the holiday season. T-Acadie (Pam Weeks - teaches music in the building - , Jim Joseph, and Bill Olson) specialize in the music of New England and French Acadia, but also love any fun acapella music they can fit to their close-knit voices!  They can’t promise “Jingle Bells”, but how about a bit of southern gospel songs and old-timey tunes, French carols, old English wassail songs, a Cajun Christmas song, and more! T-Acadie will bring even more instruments than usual to add to the fun! The concert begins at 3:30pm in the community room at the Leavitt Institute Building. Pam Weeks and gang have been a great favorite though the summer Gazebo music series, and this summer, we found a surprising intimacy going into the Institute Building on a rainout. Come join a Christmas musical afternoon with your neighbors, and home in time for supper. Suggested donations, $ 5 - 10.  Hot chocolate and cookies might be there!!!
