The Bowdoinham Contradance

The Bowdoinham Contradance Series occurs monthly on the 3rd Saturday at the historic Bowdoinham Town Hall on School St. in Bowdoinham, ME, where contradances have been held for nearly 40 years!! Dances are currently held March-November, but we hope to extend through the winter season. The main dance starts at 8pm with a beginner's workshop at 7:30pm; some months there is a special event for our dance community before that. Various bands, various callers.

Sorry about having to cancel the December dance. The weather forecast just looked too iffy and we wanted to keep folks safe.. Scrod Pudding WILL be back on March 18, so we hope to see you then!!

In Maine, from I-295: Follow I-295 (southbound-folks see below) to EXIT 37 - Bowdoin-Bowdoinham, head EAST off the ramp towards Bowdoinham. You are on Rte 125/138 -- proceed into town staying on 125 (138 shortly splits off to left). Look for a church on your right--turn RIGHT at the church onto School St. The Town Hall is the white building at the crest of the hill. Please avoid parking on the neighbors' driveways. Use the parking lot side entrance.

Google maps: Town Hall (lists as Schoolhouse Crossing Rd - don't believe, it's called School Street)

44o 00' 31.79" N - 69o 53' 58.32"W

From the WEST: aim for the Atlantic Ocean and just before you hit the beach (look out for tourists) hang a left onto I-95 at about Boston, MA or maybe Portsmouth, NH, and then head north. At Portland, MAINE, get off onto I-295 and continue northbound...it will remerge with I-95 just north of Portland. Go about 35 miles and take Exit 37 - the Bowdoin-Bowdoinham exit. See above for local route.
